  71. This package contains the recipe management program, MicroCook, by
  72. NORSKi Software.  This document contains only a brief description of the
  73. package and its features, along with instructions for its installation.
  74. Quite detailed documentation is included in the package, but it is in
  75. archived form, and is more easily read after installation.

  77. MicroCook is a shareware program.  This evaluation version includes all
  78. features of the program, and is not crippled in any way.  You may use it
  79. for up to 30 days, without charge (see READ1ST.TXT for more details). If
  80. you like the program, and wish to continue its use after this evaluation
  81. period, you are required to pay for the program (see REGISTER.FRM for
  82. more details).  Any fee you may have paid to others (disk vendors,
  83. dealers, etc.) to obtain this evaluation version was a fee for their
  84. copying and distribution services, rather than a payment for continued
  85. use of the program.

  127. ===== Installation =====================================

  129. To register, type in REGISTER from the directory where all the MicroCook
  130. files are. This will execute a batch file which will print 1 sheet with
  131. the necessary information for registration of the MicroCook. You can
  132. also print the registration form for MicroCook from the Print Menu in
  133. MicroCook.
  134. When you register you will receive a small "key file" with the serial
  135. number and your name. Place this file in the SAME directory as
  136. MCOOK.EXE. This file is for YOU only, and must NOT be distributed
  137. with any copies you give to your friends or upload to BBS's (which
  138. you are encouraged to do). The Key disables all the "Please Register!"
  139. messages and the time delayed opening and ending screens so the
  140. program will start running without delay. I added these "features"
  141. as reminders to unregistered users, not to harass them. The unregistered
  142. version and the registered version are identical in functions, except
  143. for these messages. Also included with the registered version are over
  144. 2,200 free recipes.
  145. Please keep a copy of the Key file in a safe place, since you have
  146. to pay a $5.00 S&H fee to get a new one.
  147. To print out the documentation included with MicroCook, use the File
  148. Manager from the Tool menu in MicroCook. There you can select any of the
  149. TXT files that are included with MicroCook, and both read and print them.
  150. To print the manual, select "Manual" under the Print Menu in MicroCook.
  151. This will format the manual better. If you are printing to a continuous
  152. feed printer (DOT-Matrix), you should locate the first page perforation
  153. about 1 inch above where the print head is located.

  177. MicroCook is not, nor has ever been, public domain or free software.
  178. MicroCook is distributed as Shareware. Shareware is the best type of
  179. software, it's software you can try before you pay for it! Paying for
  180. Shareware is called "registering." If you bought a copy of this
  181. software through a disk vendor, paid to download the software from a
  182. BBS, or got a copy from a friend; you did NOT register it.

  185. for backup purposes. A registered copy of MicroCook must be treated
  186. like a book, in that the same registered copy of MicroCook may not be
